Paediatric gynaecology

The gynaecological assessment of girls requires particular care to avoid infliction of emotional trauma and physical pain. It also requires a good understanding of age appropriate anatomy and physiology.

Dr Thiebaut diagnoses, treats and manages a spectrum of gynaecological problems in children of all ages. Some of the most common gynaecological problems encountered in girls include (inflammation of the vagina and vulva), vaginal discharge and labial fusion.

More complex conditions usually require further radiological investigations and examination under general anaesthesia.
