Circumcision

Medical or religious circumcision is considered a surgical operation and can be performed at any age. Dr Thiebaut performs circumcisions under general anaesthetic in a theatre environment to achieve best results and minimise the risk of complications. Circumcision performed in boys under the age of 16 years for any reason other than medical or religious, is an offence in terms of Section 12 of the Children’s Act 2008.
